Recipe | Chocolate Yogurt Cake
You don't need to take a break from healthy eating to indulge in a delicious chocolate cake! Check out our version of healthy, chocolate cake with yogurt that will surely satisfy your taste buds.
Ingredients (Yield - 12 ) :
- 170g Yoplait Nature Sans Sucre
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 6 Tablespoons butter at room temperature
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup brewed coffee, room temperature or warm*
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Glaze:
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 2/3 cocoa
- 3-4 Tablespoons water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350° F. Line a 9-by-9-inch square baking pan with parchment paper and spray with cooking spray.
- In a bowl, whisk together all dry ingredients; flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In another large mixing bowl combine egg, sugar, yogurt, butter, coffee and vanilla. Whisk until smooth and combined.
- Combine both dry and wet ingredients, stir until just combined.
- Pour into the prepared pan and bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean.
- Whisk together powdered sugar, cocoa, water, and vanilla until smooth. Pour over cooled cake.
- Allow cake to cool in pan completely, at least 30 minutes, before adding the glaze.
